We did rat dissection today in bio prac. Must note it down cos i probably wont get to do it in college or uni again, depending on wad subjects i offer. anyway, not that im getting squirmy over the dissection (i did half of the cutting, weixiang did the other half), but i was just thinking, "omfg poor rat". 'Glorious' sacrifice for mankind? 'For the scientific progress of mankind'?? Just because we're curious about whats going on in our body we cut up a rat like its nothing more than a piece of paper. Not that i'm against science, and although i know that's probably the best way to quench our thirst for knowledge, but...the rat's a little too innocent. Not like it can look at its own innards and the rat race will gain a little more knowledge...
Anyway, I'm reading The Amazing Tale(story?) of Henry Sugar and other Short Stories by Rold Dahl, and I must say, Dahl is a fantastic writer. He can write superb stories that can entertain the children, and he can write stories to intrigue the adults. pretty noob arh...
Anyway, the amazing tale of Henry Sugar was abt this guy called Henry Sugar(dUh). He is a freaking rich guy by inheritance and a typical 败家子, idling his time away just cos he got $$. but at e end of story, he could see with his eyes closed, and was a changed man, and went to casinoes not to gamble like before, but to get money to open orphanages. i cant b bothered to type out wad went on in between. the other short stories were very nice too...should read it if you have the chance.
well, thats all! tmr Oral Defense for HRP, good luck to those taking it!
